SILENT HILL : MOVIE POSTER CONTEST ENTRY photo-stock - Sony Pictures contest elements
THE STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE : I rarely, if ever, enter contests. I just dont. I know I stand as good a chance as anyone does to win or even place (or even get an honorable mention) but I choose not to enter them. There really is no reason or anything behind this choice, its just something I feel I can do without dealing with for the most part. Of course there are those times when I break this little mandate of mine and throw it to the wind to see what happens.
In comes Sony Pictures SILENT HILL POSTER CONTEST[link] from a few years ago. I cant remember where I heard about it from, but when I looked into it I thought it was simple to do. Take some of the pictures that they provided (couldnt use anything else)and try to make a movie poster out of them. Whether it would have been used as one of the promotional posters for the film would have been up to the publicity department, but people could enter and win one of the following prize packages:
One (1) Winner Prize: $2,500.00 cash twenty-five (25) tickets to a local promotional screening of Silent Hill currently scheduled in or around April 2006 copy of a limited run Silent Hill movie poster as created by Winner Winner's poster as a mobile phone wallpaper to be made available for free at the Silent Hill mobile Web site a Silent Hill prize pack consisting of select Silent Hill merchandise
Four (4) Runner-Up Prizes: two (2) tickets to a local promotional screening of Silent Hill currently scheduled in or around April 2006 Silent Hill Prize Pack
That kind of money would make even me spread my legs and give it a shot, which I did. The voting process was somewhat dependent on the number of friends you had and the number of people they knew. Kind of like a geometric spreading of the link to your entry so that people could vote for you. My guess is I didnt have enough of a geometric spread to even make it to the semi-finals. At least I tried, and honestly thats more important at times.
While I didnt win that didnt change my intention for watching the movie. I liked it enough to even buy it and add it to my extensive collection. I know many Silent Hill game-fans dont like it, but then again Ive never played the games before so I could safely judge this movie on its own merits without that in the back of my mind.
- please be aware that this is a reposted image and not a brand new deviation
Then you sit at the other end of the couch so you have plenty of distance and recoil space. Just make sure there is something soft and cushiony to break your fall, or you could try to launch for other chairs. Or if you are on the floor, lay on a dark blanket so when you wet yourself it won't show right away and she won't point and laugh.
