Each character is first drawn in pencil, then inked and then colored in PhotoShop
Various stock images are used from the following sources: =resurgere stock.xchng [link] Twilit Grotto [link]
Numerous other sources, both personal and public domain, are used as well throughout a number of characters.
WARNING: For those who wish to give this image a full-view be advised that this is ALWAYS going to be a massive image due to the number of characters that this piece will contain. So if you are one of the few still laboring with dial-up, you might want to just stick with the smaller image. And for those with DSL or Broadband, be patient.
Once again this is a MASSIVE picture in not only dpi but MB count as well, and for obvious reasons (who really wants to see detailed characters 1/2" tall) it will remain that way.
THE STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE : The basic idea behind this project is to create one hero and one villain who are in opposition to one another. Many of the characters will obviously be inspired by existing characters, like Spider-Man inspired Arachnic and Venom inspired Scorpio. Others will be inspired on a purely thematic level, like Apex is inspired by the basic premise behind Superman.
NOTE: indicates completed combinations already included in the picture
UPDATE NOTE: This update marks a major completion milestone...25%! Not much for most people, but for me, this is big. It is also the last update I will be making to this for a while due to various major things happening in my immediate future. No I am not quiting on this, I just have a load of things coming down in the very immediate future that is going to take away from my time on the computer/PhotoShop.
I have also made this one "size managable" so it should load a lot faster.

By all means I deleted the one in my SCRAPS, and I am going to update this one frequently, although I will try to make sure to keep checking to make sure I don't notify everyone each time I just add one character. I'll make sure this show up when I've added a slew of them instead
