THE STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE : MySpace gets a bad rap these days, and yet it can produce working relationships between artists and musicians that normally can’t arise any other way. This piece is the result of such collaboration. I was contacted on my MySpace account one day by this local heavy metal band named Azoth out of Austin, TX and they were looking for artwork for their debut CD. More than happy to help I came up with a sketch that they went with, and with some input form members of the band I was able to come up with what you see here.
Sadly the album has yet to come out, much less even be finished. For whatever reason Azoth broke up and have since reunited with the intent to complete the album and so far they are still going with the cover and the album title. With any luck the album will be released soon, and not wind up like Chinese Democracy.
